Comfortis Monthly Flea Tablets for Dogs 2.3 - 4.5 kg Description:

Comfortis Chewable Flea Tablets for Dogs are a flavoured tablet administered once a month for the control of fleas on dogs. Comfortis starts to kill fleas within 30 minutes of administration and will kill 100%  of fleas on a dog within 4 hours. The chewable meat flavoured tablet is readily accepted by dogs and as the product is an oral medication there are no restrictions with regards to swimming or washing after treatment.  Comfortis comes in 5 convenient sizes for dogs between 2.3 and 54 kg in weight. Comfortis is registered for the control of flea allergy dermatitis in dogs.

Directions of Use
Comfortis tablets are administered orally once a month at the recommended minimum dosage of 30 mg/kg. Comfortis should be given with food. Dogs between 2.3 and 4.5 kg are given one 140 mg tablet from the pink box each month. Dogs between 4.6 and 9 kg are given one 270 mg tablet from the orange box each month. Dogs between 9.1 and 18 kg are given one 560 mg tablet from the green box each month. Dogs between 18.1 and 27 kg are given one 810 mg tablet from the blue box each month. Dogs between 27.1 and 54 kg are given one 1620 mg tablet from the brown box each month.

Caution
Do not use in puppies less than 14 weeks of age. Keep out of reach of children. Do not administer to cats or other species of animal. Give this medication with food. Do not treat pregnant or lactating bitches unless on the advise of a veterinarian. The safe use of this product on breeding male dogs has not been evaluated. Comfortis may be safely administered to dogs in conjunction with topical tick treatments and collars as well as heartworm and worming medications.

Possible Side Effects
Side effects of Comfortis are rare in dogs and are considered mild. The most common side effect in dogs is vomiting, followed by decreased appetite, lethargy and diarrhoea. Reactions are usually short lived and decrease with repeated dosing.
